The Makerettes hit the Big Chill 2010
October 6, 2010
The Mischief Makers returned to The Big Chill Festival this Summer with a team of glamourous Makerettes and one Makeretto (thanks Jimmy). This year we rocked the Words in Motion Tent with pupils from the John Masefield School who joined us on our march and played a gig at the after march rally.

Pack up your troubles in you old kit bag……
Our new installation piece, the fabulous twin peaks of ‘Doll Mountain’. Participants were invited to place their protest dolls atop the mountain, to shout their dreams from up on high.

Its a teenage riot! Fantastic, surreal slogans get the attention of Castlefield revelers ” Muffins are Ugly Cupcakes” . . ” Blonde and Proud” . . “I want to be a Narwal” . .
The Makerettes – Glamour and Grit.
“The 1940′s was a great time of empowerment for women. We are extending that message to our young people through our Protest Camp movement. Believe in yourself and be proud of your dreams…”
